You’re a community builder!
There are millions of us. Or dare I say, billions. I believe that every human has the ability to build community within them. You don’t have to be an extrovert. We all need human connection. And we all have an innate ability to bring people together. It’s a part of being human.
But it doesn’t always come naturally. There’s no Community Building 101 course in school. But there should be! Is there any surprise we’re in a loneliness epidemic?
Community building is a skill that you can learn, just like any other skill. My goal is to help you to tap into your innate ability, bring it to the surface.
But I don’t want you to just become a community builder. I want to help you become a community entrepreneur. I don’t think that you should have to choose between financial security and community. You can have both.
The facebookificaiton of community has created a world where we expect community builders to work for free. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen community builders burn out because they give and give and give without ever capturing value for themselves. It’s a proven path to failure.
Even community managers who work for brands struggle with getting budget and proper compensation. I’ve worked with brands on their community programs for the last 15 years. My last company, CMX, was dedicated to helping community professionals thrive. And while we certainly made life a lot better for community professionals, the struggles persist. Community professionals continue to feel undervalued, under supported, and often underpaid.
The solution: become a community entrepreneur.
You can’t fill up others’ cups if yours is empty. I want to help you fill you cup. Financially and emotionally. And in terms of time! If you don’t have the right systems in place, community will take up every moment of every day. You’ll always be on. Always responding. Always engaging.
It’s time to build a life where you can build community and build wealth at the same time, without burning yourself out.
It’s time to become a community entrepreneur.
